WindDataSuite (WDS) provides all necessary evaluation modules for the complete and exact implementation of the Technical Guideline 10, published by FGW e.V. Berlin ("TG 10" in the following). The TG 10 regulates the procedure for the assessment of the wind turbine ("WTG" or "WEA" in the following) at the end of a 5-years operation period.
With WDS all necessary calculations can be conducted in just a few steps, starting with the (automatic) assignment of status codes and EEG categories, and ending with the final calculation of the site quality, and all this in compliance with all necessary plausibility checks and data validity constraints.
Example with some aspects of the processing:
A certain wind turbine (WT), WEA1, has to be assessed at the end of the 5-years operation period from 2014-05-01 to 2019-04-30. The data of the WT are available in a respective time series with 10-minute time steps. The timestamps are defined at the beginning of the 10-minute intervals. The hub height of the WT is 120 m, the rated power is 3000 kW. The WT operates with a storm control shut down.
Fig.1 shows an excerpt of the time series after the assignment of the status codes and EEG categories. The negative status code number has been assigned by WDS. It marks those time steps at which gaps in the power values could be filled by evaluating the time series values of the WT internal energy meter.
The calculation of the temporal availability according to TG 10 - 4.4 yielded a value of 96.4 %. So, the extended procedure for the calculation of the site energy yield according to TR 10 - 6.3 had to be applied.
Essential measures of the extended procedure are:
Fig.2 shows the fitted power curves for month November 2018 for the day period operation (PC fitted day) and the night period operation (PC fitted night). The data basis for the fit are the corrected (as specified by TG 10) wind speeds (v cat01) and power values (P cat01) of the EEG categories 0 and 1, here for the month November 2018 within the period from 2018-10-01 00:00 to 2018-12-31 23:50 (in this example here, the low scatter of the corrected power values is real).
Fig.3 shows the same time series period as Fig.1, but here for the wind speeds before (original) and after (filled) the fill-up. Here, for example, for the regression for the month November 2018 the respective time series values within the period from 2018-09-01 00:00 to 2019-01-31 23:50 had to be used.
Fig.4 shows the same time series period as Fig.1, but here for the power values scaled with the wind park scaling factor (P scaled) and the filled up target power values for the EEG category 2 (Pcat2 filled).
After the determination of the 5-years reference energy yield and after the calculation of the 5-years site energy yield according to TG 10 - 6.3 a site quality according to TG 10 - 7 of 110.1 % has been yielded (the WT is sited in a coastal region).
